Dr. John Koonz, AuD, President
Dr. John Koonz, Au.D, received his Masters degree from the University of Minnesota and his Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences. He did his internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit Michigan. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada, Dr. Koonz moved to Tallahassee and founded Hearing & Balance Associates of NW FL in 2003. Dr. Koonz has served Tallahassee residents for over 13 years in a private locally owned independent Audiology practice. He is not affiliated with any hearing aid chain, partnership, or buying group. Dr. Koonz is free to help Tallahassee residents choose the hearing care plan best suited for their hearing loss, listening needs, and budget.
Vivian Koonz, Practice Manager
Vivian Koonz was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and has been a Tallahassee resident since 2006. She graduated in the Philippines with a degree in Computer System Design and Programming. Her interests include: the latest technology, web design, fashion, yoga, and biking. Dr. Koonz and Vivian have been married since 2013. Vivian has been the director of Hearing & Balance Associates since 2011. She has several roles at the practice including answering the phone, billing, marketing, and website design.
Dr. Kimberly Lamb, Au.D.
Dr. Kimberly Lamb, Au.D, received her bachelors degree in Communication Disorders and Doctorate in Audiology from Central Michigan University. Dr. Lamb has been with Hearing & Balance Associates since July 2017. Born and raised in the mid-west, Dr. Lamb moved east to Rochester, NY where she met her fiancee. They moved to Atlanta, GA to get away from the cold winters of the North and have now moved to Tallahassee to be closer to family. Dr. Lamb specializes in adult diagnostics and hearing aid fittings. Her passion is to help patients improve their quality of life and interpersonal relationships through better hearing.
Rachel Lynch, Audiology Extern
Rachel Lynch is an Audiology Student Extern from Destin, Florida. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Florida State University and is currently a fourth year doctoral student from the University of South Florida. Through the doctoral program at USF, Rachel has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients in many different settings and will receive her Doctorate in Audiology in May 2019. Rachel has decided to finish her education and pursue her career in audiology back in Tallahassee where she and her husband can be closer to their family and so she can attend FSU football games, go Noles! Rachel is excited to serve the people of Tallahassee and improve their communication and quality of life with hearing technology.
